If you can’t find Shadowrocket in search, first check the Apple Account country or region used for Media & Purchases, then open the App Store product page to verify the listing. This guide is for people browsing the mainland China storefront or unsure whether their account region matches their device region. Follow the steps to distinguish storefront availability from loading errors and account mismatches, and verify the app name, developer, and app ID.
No search results? Check your storefront first
Your App Store storefront is generally determined by the country or region of the Apple Account used for purchases. Apple ID is the former name for this account; newer versions of the system typically call it Apple Account. Being in mainland China, using a device set to Chinese, or connecting to a particular Wi-Fi network does not by itself prove that you’re using the mainland China storefront.
If the purchase account’s Country/Region is mainland China and Shadowrocket doesn’t appear in search, check whether the product page says it isn’t available in your current country or region. App availability can vary by storefront. No search results don’t prove that the app is unavailable in every storefront, nor do they mean a previous purchase has disappeared.
Don’t confuse Region under Settings → General → Language & Region with your purchase account’s region. The former controls device settings such as regional formats; the latter is tied to your App Store purchase account. Changing your device language or date format doesn’t change your App Store storefront.
Check your Apple Account country or region
The steps below use the English interface labels for iPhone and iPad: Settings, Media & Purchases, View Account, and Country/Region. Labels and layout may vary with your device language and system version. You only need to view the information; there’s no need to sign out or change your payment method.
-
Open your account page
Open Settings and tap the Apple Account entry showing your name at the top. Make sure it’s your account. Check this account separately from the one used for purchases.
-
Check the purchase account
Go to Media & Purchases to see the account currently used for store purchases. It may differ from your iCloud account, so the name at the top of Settings alone doesn’t confirm which account owns purchases.
-
Open account details
Select View Account and complete any authentication requested by the system. If the page keeps loading or shows a connection error, note the message first; you can’t determine the account’s storefront until the page opens.
-
Note the country or region
Go to Country/Region and note the country or region shown. Just record the current value; you don’t need to proceed to Change Country or Region to check your storefront.
If the system asks you to verify your account or resolve an account issue, first complete the steps listed on the page. Being unable to open View Account is different from an app being unavailable in your current storefront: resolve the account or page access issue first.
Verify the product page: app name, developer, and app ID
After checking your region, visit our App Store verification page, then use its button to open the product page. Shadowrocket is a paid client for Apple platforms, sold as a one-time purchase. Check the App Store listing for the current price, compatible devices, and system requirements.
The /us/ in the specified App Store product URL is part of the storefront path; it isn’t an instruction to change your account region. Viewing the US storefront webpage in a browser doesn’t mean your purchase account has switched to that storefront. Whether you can purchase, install, or redownload the app depends on what the App Store shows for your current account.
| Item to check | What to verify | What it confirms |
|---|---|---|
| App name | Shadowrocket | Don’t rely on the search term “Little Rocket” or a similar-looking icon alone. |
| Developer | Shadow Launch Technology Limited | Check the developer or seller details to verify who publishes the app. |
| App ID | 932747118 | The specified product page URL ends in id932747118. |
| Official icon | Rocket with a blue-purple outline on a white background | Use this as an additional visual check, but verify the developer and ID too. |
The date mentioned in this article is its publication date, not the app’s update date. Before purchasing, check the current price and compatibility section in the App Store. Don’t rely on old search snippets for prices, system requirements, or screenshots instead of the current product listing.
Tell an availability message from a loading error
The most useful troubleshooting record is more specific than “it won’t open”: note which page you were on and the exact message shown. No search results, a product page saying the app isn’t available in your country or region, a page that keeps spinning, and a purchase prompt asking for verification point to different issues. Record the message before deciding what to do next, rather than repeatedly changing account settings.
- Search returns nothing, but the product page opens: Verify the app name, developer, and app ID, then check the purchase button. Search ranking and indexing don’t determine whether the product page is available.
- The product page says the app isn’t available in your country or region: Go back and check the storefront for your purchase account under Country/Region. Switching Wi-Fi doesn’t replace checking your account region.
- Multiple App Store pages fail to load: First check your network connection, system time, and whether your purchase account needs verification. Don’t assume a general loading problem is specific to one app.
- The page loads, but checkout reports a billing issue: Follow the prompt under Payment & Shipping or the App Store’s payment message. Seeing the product page doesn’t mean your payment requirements are met.
If Shadowrocket is already installed and App Store pages only fail to load when a connection is active, note the Global Routing setting under Home and compare briefly. The checks below only compare Shadowrocket’s traffic-handling settings; they don’t change your storefront. If you haven’t purchased or installed the app yet, skip this step.
Direct: a quick baseline
RecommendedSelect Direct under Global Routing to handle the traffic being tested as a direct connection. Reopen the same product page and see whether the loading error changes. Restore your previous setting when you’re done.
Best for: ruling out the current proxy route when the app is already installed
Config: check the rules
With Config selected under Global Routing, traffic is handled according to the current configuration rules. If loading fails with Config but works with Direct, check the rule and policy actually matched rather than changing your Apple Account region.
Best for: finding differences in rules or policies when you already have a working configuration
Proxy: check the connection route
With Proxy selected under Global Routing, most traffic follows the current proxy policy, subject to system and bypass settings. If only this setting fails, check whether your existing service is reachable.
Best for: distinguishing an issue with the current proxy route from an App Store page problem
Bottom line: network tests don’t replace checking your region
If changing traffic-handling settings lets the page load, continue by verifying the product page details. If it explicitly says the app isn’t available in your region, check the purchase account’s Country/Region instead of continuing to change connection settings.
Already purchased? Check which account made the purchase
If you’ve already bought Shadowrocket but see a price button on a new device, first check whether the account currently used for Media & Purchases matches the original purchase account. Purchases belong to the account that made them. Having had the app installed on this device doesn’t prove that the current account owns the purchase.
- In the App Store, tap your account icon, open Apps or Purchased (the label depends on your system), and search for Shadowrocket.
- Compare the app name and purchase account on the original receipt. Check these details yourself; don’t share your account password, verification codes, or full billing statement with anyone.
- If the app appears in the list, check whether you can redownload it from that entry. Redownloading is still subject to current storefront availability, device compatibility, and account status.
- If the app isn’t in the list, first make sure you’re signed in to the right purchase account. Don’t buy it again based on a price button alone.
Check the product page’s compatibility section to see whether your new device meets the requirements. Shadowrocket is primarily used on iPhone and iPad; compatibility with Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision, along with system requirements, is as listed on the App Store page. Search results on one device don’t tell you whether the app is available on another.
What to keep in mind before and after purchase
Once you’ve confirmed the storefront and product listing, follow the App Store prompts to purchase. Shadowrocket’s one-time client purchase and a service subscription are separate: buying the app doesn’t include a connection service. Any later configuration assumes you already have your own provider and subscription. This site doesn’t provide, sell, or recommend such services.
Can I buy it by changing my device’s Region to another country or region?
That alone doesn’t determine whether you can buy the app. Changing Region under Settings → General → Language & Region changes device settings. Check the purchase account’s region under Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region, and follow what the App Store actually tells you.
Why can I see the product page in a browser but the App Store says it’s unavailable?
The storefront shown on a webpage may differ from the one used by your current App Store purchase account. The specified URL includes the US storefront path, but it doesn’t change your account’s country or region. Go back to the App Store and check the account and its message. Being able to view the webpage doesn’t mean you’re eligible to purchase.
What should I do after purchasing?
First make sure the app opens normally, then use the Getting Started guide to review what Home, Config, and Settings do. After importing a subscription you already have, check the server, Global Routing, and configuration rules. You don’t need to change On Demand or DNS before purchasing.
Follow this order: note the search or product page message, check the purchase account’s region, verify the product listing, then address the purchase or redownload. Recording whether the page loads, the app is available in your storefront, and the account can make the purchase as separate checks helps distinguish network errors, regional restrictions, and billing issues.
